Should rename this my headache blog

I went back to the doctor yesterday. We get to try upping my Topamax again. And she told me to try Maxalt instead of the Axert. But the Axert is really the only thing that works. And if my insurance will only give me 9 of them, I don't think they'll give me more of anything else. But she did say that if this doesn't work, she might want to refer me to a neurologist. I kind of wish they had just done that to begin with. She was talking about how they can prescribe high blood pressure medicine for headaches, and my blood pressure when I got there was 110 / 68, so I don't really want to do that. But I don't want to keep going up on the Topamax. So far I haven't had too many side effects from it, but why risk it if it's not doing any good? I tried to explain to her that I had been having increased pressure in my eyes and burst blood vessels (which I read was a side effect of it, although not a common one). She tried to tell me it was just because of the headaches. I've had headaches my whole life, but I just happened to start having this problem when I started the Topamax? Right. So anyway, fortunately I have Google. But we'll see how it goes.

Everyone is gone from work today, so it should be nice and relaxing. The Lady Toppers beat MTSU last night (no idea how, obviously MTSU is having a down year) so they're first place in the conference now. We haven't beat them in 3 years I think. The guys are at South Al tomorrow, and apparently they're pretty good. Coach has been making a big deal out of it. And on the road (with us), you never know. Really anywhere with us, you never know.

Nick fixed the wireless last night. It only took him 5 hours. Seriously. The things he does to avoid quality time with his wife. But I'm sure I'll think of some way for him to make it up to me.

I found Maxalt to be less effective than Axert, but there are totally more than two triptans. Also, taking high blood pressure medicine for migraines isn't a big deal. Rather like taking an anti-seizure medicine for migraines. I found that the blood pressure stuff helped more than the Topamax, but that's not saying that much. Anyway, they will find the right dosage of the right medicines for you and it will be much better. Good luck.
