I've been neglecting my blog

I haven't updated in a while. We've had some issues with our home computer, and the wireless still doesn't work. Also, lots is going on. Nick and I went to a marriage conference this past weekend (familylife.com/weekend) in Nashville. It was probably our last trip out of town together before Emma comes, and it was nice to stay at a hotel and not have to cook or clean. The conference itself was a really great experience, and a good reminder to focus on our marriage even after Emma is born. Also, how awesome is my husband for going to a marriage conference with me?

As far as the pregnancy, this is week 32. 8 months. That seems crazy. But I'm definitely starting to feel like I'm 8 months pregnant. I start going to the doctor every 2 weeks for the next month, then weekly after that. I keep reading that at this point, Emma should be sleeping the majority of the day. She definitely doesn't seem to sleep that much. I'm sure she does, but she moves a lot. What if she never sleeps after she's born? I'm beginning to worry about things like that. What if I forget to feed her? What if the dogs hate her?

The nursery is FINALLY finished. We got the new crib put together. Emma's bag is packed...now I just need to start mine. But I still have 8 weeks, so I think I'm ok. We're over halfway through childbirth class, so I'm trying to start putting together my birth plan now. I'm going to work through the middle of May. Then I'm going to take some time to stay home with Emma. Fortunately, I won't have to go back full-time; I'm looking forward to spending that time at home with her.

My bracket looks terrible this year. I have lost all of my Final Four teams already. I'm practically last in our pool. Nick's looks bad too, but he's already beat me. Fortunately we didn't put anything on it. I usually win, so he won't bet on it anymore.

Hopefully I will be able to update more frequently over the next few weeks. Although I have started using Twitter, which is cool, except that I don't really know anyone else that's on there. So if you're on Twitter, let me know!

2 years in a row

The game last night was very exciting, to say the least. In a bad way. But we advanced past the first round again, which is always good. My husband lost his mind at the end, and wouldn't sit with me to watch the game. I actually found it a little amusing that they got up 17...to which I said, hey remember the Drake game last year, when we got up big and then they almost beat us...which is why we were in OT in the first place? Nick obviously had forgotten. My bracket doesn't look so good though.

March Madness

So I'm pretty excited about this time of year. Selection Sunday is way better when you know you'll see your team up there. Also, the next few days are awesome because there's basketball on all day. Which kind of sucks now that I can't watch it at work and it sort of be part of my job. I'm excited to see how South Carolina will do in the SEC Tournament (and also UK, but just because they're pretty terrible). I wish it wasn't so cold here though. It was so nice just a few days ago. I hate our weather. Most of the baby stuff is coming together. Nick and I went to Lil Angels Attic last weekend and got tons of clothes for cheap. Hopefully after our showers, we'll have all the things we need. We also bought our baby book and started that. Now if only we'd get our crib in. I'm obviously not one of Babies R Us' favorite customers, despite how much of my money they have received lately. I feel pretty lucky to have made it this far without anything major to complain about. No complications, all my tests have been normal...so far everything is good.

Weekend and Class

This past weekend was our last little mini-vacation (only not really, because we're going to Nashville later this month, but that's for a marriage conference, so it's different) to Nashville. It was a fun weekend, but interesting. We were able to return our crib and pick out a new one (so glad to have that whole thing over with...although we don't have the new one yet) and eat at Olive Garden on Friday night. Saturday we ate way too much (breakfast at Cracker Barrel, lunch at Ted's Montana Grill, dinner at PF Chang's), did some shopping, and went to the South Carolina/Vanderbilt basketball game. This is the interesting part. Originally, the game was scheduled for 3:00pm (I also could have totally imagined that), so we planned to go there, eat dinner, and go to the Predators game at 7. Turns out the basketball game is at 8pm instead, so we sold our Preds tickets and went to the basketball game. Where SC got killed (and played terribly, obviously, to lose to Vanderbilt). But at least the tickets were free, so we were only out food for the whole weekend. Anyway, Nick had never been to a hockey game, so I have to take him back for one, since the game I picked sucked. And apparently the Predators game was awesome (8-0 over the Red Wings). But all in all, it was fun. We got to eat breakfast Sunday at the Pancake Pantry, which is the same place they have in Gatlinburg. They have chocolate chip pancakes. Yum.

Last night we went to our first childbirth class at the Medical Center. It was interesting. There were tons of people there though; more than I thought there would be. The class seems like it will be fun though; I want to learn as much as I can. I'm having lots of fun buying things for the baby, although I need to stop now. They had a Carter's at Opry Mill, which had some really cheap clothes. And I got our carrier and sling from Amazon yesterday. I put Isabelle in the sling, and didn't drop her, so that's a good sign. Now we need to find a pediatrician and pack a bag (s). I'm beginning to stress out about all the things that need to be done, although I think we're ahead of the game, so to speak.

This is my favorite part of the year, so I'm hoping to get everything finished so I can enjoy some free time this spring. Spring Training has started, which is meaningless, but means baseball season is here. Not that I can watch the Braves on tv anymore anyway. Also, the Sun Belt tournament starts this week, and Selection Sunday is less than 2 weeks away. I feel like I was just in Tampa for the NCAA tournament a month or two ago. Tomorrow night, USC plays UT, which will decide the SEC East, at least as far as USC is concerned. And I'm pretty sure that another Duke/UNC matchup is coming up (which is always fun in our house...Nick hates UNC, but he hates Duke more. It's the equivalent of the UK/UofL game for me).
