What a week

This week has been nuts. The good thing about that is it makes it go by faster I guess. But I've been so busy at work that I'm exhausted by the time I get home (which seems hard to believe, since I mostly have a desk job, I know). So we didn't make it to church or small group this week. But I think it was good that we got some time to relax and hang out. It was fun. Even though Wednesday night the cable people messed up the sound on Jeopardy so we had to guess the right answers and try to read lips. Fun times.

Tomorrow I think I'm going shopping with my mom and sister before the football game. And maybe we'll go to the airport for the Balloon thing, unless it's raining.

I'm still feeling kind of sick. I feel like I might throw up every now and then, combined with some weird cramps. What's that about? My neck feels a little better, but I'm not sleeping very well. Which is not like me. I love the sleeping. Possibly it's because my dog has decided that she likes to sleep on my pillow and not let me have any of it. But she looks so cute that I can't make her move. How pathetic.

Bad Weekend

Even though it turned out to be a 4 day weekend for me, it sucked. I was sick Monday and took off work yesterday. I don't really get sick to my stomach often, so it was weird for me. And now I think my lymph nodes are about 5 times their normal size. That's how they feel anyway. And I am kind of thinking that I probably need to go back home and lay down. But I'm the only one at work right now, so probably not going to happen. Until at least this afternoon. Or maybe I'm just hungry, since I had nothing to eat at all Monday, and not too much yesterday. Unless Oreo ice cream counts.

Nick and I had our first major fight this weekend, so that was added fun on top of the being sick. But he did use up the other half personal day he had at work to come home yesterday and make me lunch and also clean the kitchen. And spray for bugs!

Anyway, that was my Labor Day weekend.

Power

We are having electricity issues here at work. I'm really wishing it would just go out already so we could go home and have a 4 day weekend. But I am probably not that lucky. It flickered several times this morning, the phones went out, and it seems that the air is not on. And apparently the top of the hill had no power. I'm all about sitting in a 90 degree office all day. Anyway, I'm just trying to get through today. So I can get to the weekend, which will be over in what seems like a second. Funny how that works. The Braves are playing the Mets this weekend...big series. Unless we lose it and then it really was a big series, because we'll be completely out of it. Ugh.

3 Day Weekend

I'm very excited for the 3 day weekend. And also for no boss today! Although it's better when I know ahead of time...otherwise it makes me nervous and I have to look busy. Which is hard when there's nothing much to be doing. But now I can totally finish reading the Dave Ramsey book and balance my checkbook.

Sunday is my and Nick's 3 month anniversary (although technically we have been married for 12 weeks since last Saturday, but whatever). I want to plan something fun, but I have no idea what that might be. Also, we're trying REALLY hard to stick to our budget, so I don't want to blow a ton of money. There have to be free things to do that are still fun, right? No? Ok.

We got invited to a wedding in Gatlinburg next month. I've always wanted to go to a wedding at one of their many chapels, so I'm excited. Actually by the time of my wedding, I was pretty much wanting to get married there myself. But anyway, hopefully we can use our free two night timeshare thing for that.

Bloggers

I don't understand why I can't be one of those people who sit at home all day and blog for a living. How do you make money doing that anyway? I can look at pictures and make fun of famous people too. And be really random. Or take pictures of gross looking food and post them. What the heck am I still doing at an actual job? How do I get into that?

Blah

Obviously it was time for another one of my blah moments about my job. I had decided a week or so ago to just get through it, because the hours are (mostly) good, the pay is decent (ok that might not be true) and the benefits are very good. Plus I love getting my season tickets for free, because they're freaking expensive to buy. And Nick and I are doing this Financial Peace thing and with the incomes we have, our budget will actually allow us some room...to save and to also do fun things! So me quitting will have a big impact on that, and even if I got another job immediately, it probably wouldn't pay as much, at least not for a while. So I'm conflicted about what to do...again. But who's tired of listening to me complain about my job? Even I am.

Nick and I watched The Hills last night (not because he likes it, just because I forced him to). It might possibly be the stupidest show ever. Laguna Beach wasn't like Emmy-quality or anything, but the people on the Hills are so obviously faking it. Heidi and Spencer make me gag. But I also watched My Boys on TBS, and it's pretty good. This was after TBS reran the season finale of Friends, which even though it was less than I had hoped for at the time, makes me cry. Wow we have exciting evenings.
